Stupidity and Me

So, the adventures of yesterday included me trying to go for a relatively long run (7.3 miles) by running up to the start of Ali's route (about 1.5 miles from our casa), running the route to her house and then running home. So I missed a turn and ended up going about 110 degrees in the wrong direction, got lost, confused, stuck in a raging downpour thunderstorm, got bad directions from three separate people and ended up doing some rather stupid loops all around Millbury before finally giving up and running down to a CVS to use the phone. It turns out the poor Beck had been driving around looking for my Lost (Wed Nights at 10 pm, ABC) self when it started raining; she came down to the CVS and bought me a Powerade and some Reese's Pieces to help me revive. All told it was 9.75 miles and a whole lot of wetness.

In conclusion, I am a directionally-challenged idiot. On the plus side, I ran the entire time, about an hour and a half, with no stops other than the three times I asked people for what would turn out to be erroneous directions and a little bit of pausing to try to get my bearings. Which I never got, incidentally. I even tried to navigate by the sun for a bit. I'm awesome.

No running today for recovery - otherwise, it's more dredging through increasingly pointless school days, packing, a potential wedding haircut getting and a dinner with Theresa and not-Steve Steve. The days they just fly by...
